I was listening to “Ab-Souls Outro (Feat. Ab-Soul)” by Kendrick Lamar. The song can be found on his ‘Section 80′ mix tape.
I’m really into music and I don’t discriminate against any artist. However i do not just listen to any old rubbish. There has to be three things present, these are:
1) Soul – Music’s not about hearing anymore, it’s about feeling!
2) Logical lyrical content that is able to last longer than a week of listening.
3) Instrumental and vocal flawlessness
What I want to do is introduce you to some of the artists I’ve been getting acquainted with on my playlist with Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar as the main points of focus.
Both these artists are XXL Freshmen (that should already get the alarm bells going off in calamitous fashion). Both these stars in the making have a unique style of rap that will set the world ablaze when their albums release later on the year. The releases are highly anticipated the world over.
BIG SEAN: My favourite things about him are his flows, they have a different style and flair, and I have reason to believe that he sounds like he writes Kanye’s verses. Tell me if you hear it. He’s signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music Record Label. Coincidental??? He started his own brand and mentality – FINALLY FAMOUS. Get Googling.

Big Sean

Fresh and Smooth - Possibly one of the next style icons
KENDRICK LAMAR: I like this guy’s conscious approach to rap and hip hop. He has a positive outlook on his life and has a solid head on his shoulders. Might i mention he was a STRAIGHT A student?! Kendrick Lamar bypasses the whole (Make a cheap song for commercial radio to get famous first) conventional approach. He’s consistent and I’ve never once disagreed with anything I’ve heard him rap about.
